Tecnam choose Bose as exclusive supplier to equip the Tecnam P2012 Traveller

19/10/2015

Press releaseIssued by Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam S.p.A..

The award-winning Bose® A20® Aviation Headset has been chosen by Tecnam to equip its Tecnam P2012 Traveller, 11 seater, next-generation commuter aircraft.

Recognized globally as the industry standard for active noise reduction, comfort, and clear audio, the A20® Aviation Headset is Bose's best-performing and most advanced aviation headset ever.

Through expanded Bluetooth® audio and communications capabilities, Tecnam P2012 Traveller pilots will be able to wirelessly stream warnings and advisories from popular aviation apps from their mobile device, electronic flight bags and other wireless technologies used in the cockpit.

The Bose A20 Aviation Headset also includes an updated customizable audio prioritization feature, so pilots have full control of what audio source they hear and how they want to hear it.

“We are delighted that Bose will be one of our key offerings to enable us to support the needs of the pilots who will be flying our new flagship aircraft the Tecnam P2012” said Paolo Pascale, Tecnam's Managing Director.

Many airlines, from US to Africa, Asia and Australia, have been demanding a replacement for the hundreds of 'heritage' aeroplanes in the FAR23/CS-23 category currently in service around the world. The Tecnam P2012 Traveller is an eleven seat next generation piston engine twin, designed to comply with both FAR part 23 and EASA CS-23.

The P2012 Traveller has been designed to enable operators to benefit from very low operating and maintenance costs in particular. Able to operate on even non-prepared runways, with easy and fast turnaround, the Traveller will first see service as a passenger aeroplane but has been designed from the start to be a very versatile and flexible aerial platform, offering many multi role opportunities including hydro/float-plane, VIP, cargo shipping, parachuting and medevac services.

Initial flight-testing is expected by beginning of next year, as is the opening of the new P2012 Traveller production facility in Capua, Italy.
