To substantially increase their manufacturing capacity for aircraft structural flooring, Tods Aerospace have commissioned a fourth industrial autoclave system, and have further extended the associated clean room area, at their Crewkerne production facilities.
The Company, which produces a diverse of range of lightweight composite material floor sections for both civil and military aircraft, has a buoyant order book and is currently fulfilling contracts for new and retrofit projects in Europe, North Africa, the United States and the Far East.
On commissioning the new facility, Richard Winterbottom, Operations Director Tods Aerospace said: " We have a projected production cycle spanning the next few years and it is essential that we comply with 'on-time' delivery schedules. The installation of a fourth autoclave curing process, and a fifth unit is on order, is part and parcel of a roll-out investment programme to ensure we retain our well fought position as a key specialist in the international aerospace supply chain"
