Toray Advanced Composites, a leading developer and supplier of advanced composite materials, today announces the addition of its preceramic thermoset resin system to its extensive portfolio at the SAMPE 2026 Conference in Seattle, Washington.

Excellent Performance, Easy Processing, Outstanding Capabilities

The new ultra high-temperature Polysiloxane-based preceramic resin system, TC1810, is considered one of the highest temperature thermoset resins with prepreg exclusively offered by Toray Advanced Composites. TC1810 has varying cure profiles, initially starting as low as 225°C (437°F) and pushing the limits with an operating temperature range of 260° C to 1000° C (500° F to 1832° F), with little to no weight loss. TC1810 is also co-curable and offers various reinforcement options for applications ranging from battery containment to thermal protection systems (TPS), heat shields, leading edges, and hypersonic components for industries including aerospace, defense, Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and space launch.

“TC1810 has excellent thermo-mechanical performance and is easy to process at lower temperatures with both hand layup and Automated Fiber Placement (ATL), which will enable lower operating costs and still provide the high temperature resistance needed for crucial applications,” shares Chantel Camardese, Thermoset Product Manager at Toray Advanced Composites. “We’re pleased to roll out this new Ultra high temp prepreg system to the Toray portfolio. Preceramics is a unique product for us [Toray] that we can produce using our existing equipment lines to expand the industry capabilities and meet the material demand. TC1810 will play a key role in integrating into domestic supply chains for competitive industries all around the world, including within but not limited to aerospace, defense, and space segments.” Samples of the new ultra high-temperature thermoset prepreg system are available for customers upon request. Toray has a long heritage of combining state-of-the-art materials technology with world-class technical expertise to deliver a unique customer-centric business model for high-performance products for aerospace, space, communications, automotive, consumer, and industrial applications worldwide.
