TTTech's and Intertechnique's technology aboard Boeing 787

TTTech's hardware and software products based on the Time-Triggered Protocol (TTP(r)) have been selected by Intertechnique (Zodiac Group) for the development of its Electrical Load Control Units (ELCUs) for the electronic power system in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The Zodiac Group is a leading supplier of power distribution systems in the aerospace industry. Its TTP-based control units will be

integrated by Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation in the Dreamliner's Electric Power Generation and Start System (EPGSS).

The Electric Power Generation and Start System is a key element of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as it controls, distributes and protects

the aircraft's electric power. Maximum levels of safety and strict determinism are required for this application.

TTTech's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software components reduce development costs for safety-critical applications.

They are certifiable in compliance with the RTCA software standard DO-178B Level A. The data loading solution that TTTech provides

to Intertechnique for the ELCUs was developed according to the most stringent aerospace industry guidelines for safety-critical software

design. By choosing TTTech's time-triggered solutions, Intertechnique adds maximum fault tolerance and availability to their ELCUs.

TTP is able to support applications that must effectively monitor operational consistency and detect errors in order to provide the

required level of reliability. This technology is a major technological achievement in the area of distributed embedded computing and networking and has attracted a significant amount of attention in a wide range of industries where high reliability, availability, safety and stability are key requirements.
