ViscoTec has reached another strategic milestone in its global expansion: On January 23, 2026, the company acquired its long-standing sales partner MEI Representaciones, based in Querétaro, Mexico, thereby establishing the new ViscoTec Mexico branch.

Mexico is one of the most dynamic growth markets worldwide and is an important production location for the US. With its new local presence, ViscoTec is strengthening its market position in North and Central America and paves the way for serving customers from key industries such as electronics, e-mobility, automotive, food, cosmetics, and increasingly also from the aerospace industry even more directly.

“With the acquisition of MEI, we are creating a direct basis for sustainable growth in one of the most important production locations in North and Central America,” explains Franz Kamhuber, Managing Director of ViscoTec Pumpen- u. Dosiertechnik GmbH.

Héctor Bravo Ontiveros, who has a long history of working with ViscoTec, will take over as managing director of the new branch. The mechatronics engineer studied and worked in Germany for a couple of years before joining the family business MEI, where he rose from sales engineer to member of the management team.

“Over the past ten years, my team and I have played a key role in establishing and sustainably developing ViscoTec in Mexico,” said Bravo. “We are convinced of the company's technological strength, appreciate the people behind it, and admire its corporate culture. We are therefore much delighted to now be part of the ViscoTec family and to continue the successful development of the company together with our new colleagues.”

The existing team of nine employees will be transferred in its entirety to the new organization. MEI itself was founded in 1985 as Montajes Electromecánicos e Ingeniería SA de CV and has established itself as a reliable partner in the region over the decades. For more than ten years, the company was supported by ViscoTec America – a decisive foundation for the current step.

With the new branch, ViscoTec is shortening supply chains, increasing operational control, and strengthening its market presence in an economically highly relevant region. Customers will benefit in future from faster response times, improved service, a direct sales contact, and optimized local logistics.
