VZLU cooperates with Fokker Aerostructures on G650

VZLU won the contract for Gulfstream G650 rudder full-scale static and fatigue testing – award of tender of Fokker Aerostructures B.V. (formerly Stork Fokker AESP B.V.). Contract signing crowned the period of technical and commercial negotiations lasting from the beginning of this year.

Fokker Aerostructures is responsible for the development, testing and production of empennage for high-end business jet Gulfstream G650 of the Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. This new generation business jet took of for the maiden flight from the Savannah International Airport on 25th November 2009.

G650 powered by Rolls-Royce BR725 engines is capable of traveling 7,000 nautical miles at 0.85 Mach with a maximum operating speed of 0.925 Mach.

Aircraft is designed in accordance with FAR/CS 25 requirements and full-scale test will be part of type certification process witnessed by FAA and EASA. The main phases of rudder test will be finalized during second and third quarter of 2010.
