Weldcraft offers full line of tungsten and tungsten grinding products

04/03/2009

Press releaseIssued by Weldcraft.

To help welding operators gain superior TIG welding performance, Weldcaft offers a full line of high quality tungsten electrodes and tungsten grinding products, including its versatile Triad™ tungsten grinder.

Weldcraft offers pure, 2% ceriated, 2% thoriated, 1.5% lanthanum and rare earth tungsten electrodes, welding operators have choices for most any TIG welding application. Each tungsten electrode offers excellent arc starting and arc stability, and is available in 7-inch industry-standard lengths in diameters of 0.40-, 1/16-, 3/32-, 1/8- and 5/32-inches. Weldcraft's tungsten electrodes meet exacting AWS (American Welding Society) standards and feature important safety information on each package. These ten-count packages are also color-coded according to type and feature three languages (English, Spanish and French).

As a complement to the excellent performance of its tungsten electrodes, Weldcraft offers its highly versatile Triad tungsten grinder and accessories.  The Triad grinder features an industrial-grade motor that provides consistent tungsten cutting and facing capabilities (up to 5/32-inch) for both orbital and handheld TIG welding applications. The Triad grinder features six-precision drilled holes to accommodate tungsten diameters from 0.040 to 5/32 inch. It also offers four different grinding angles (15º, 18º, 22.5º and 30º) to ensure precise, reliable arc starting and good weld penetration.

The Triad grinder includes a dual-sided, diamond-coated grinding wheel designed to provide high-quality, reliable, long-term performance. The grinder includes an electrode holder to ease tungsten rotation and reduce the potential for flat spots, along with a machine holder that allows it to be bench mounted for shop use. Weldcraft also offers optional double-decker kit for the Triad grinder. The double-decker kit eliminates the need and cost for additional equipment by allowing a second, rough-finish grinding wheel to be quickly and easily attached for scrubbing and/or preparing larger diameter tungsten. Welding operators can then use the existing standard finish wheel to smooth the tungsten, which helps improve arc-starting capabilities and ensures good weld penetration.

Other optional tungsten grinder accessories include a cutting holder, which safely cuts 0.040-, 1/16- and 3/32-inch diameter tungsten to one of four fixed cutting lengths, and a protective dust cover that easily attaches to the Triad grinding head.
