Wicks Aircraft offers composite starter kit

17/06/2009

Press releaseIssued by the company.

For anyone seriously contemplating the construction of a composite aircraft, Wicks Aircraft Supply has a perfect sampler for anyone new to the field of foam and fiberglass. Their kit, which features an illustrated manual written by the Rutan Aircraft Factory, includes two types of foam, epoxy resin, glass bubbles, flock, fiberglass cloth, brushes, cups and spatulas.

The manual, "Moldless Composite Sandwich Homebuilt Aircraft Construction", consists of 26 pages in 11" X 17" format that describes the nature of the materials, cutting and prepping for epoxy, laying up the fiberglass, inspection and repairs, tools required and cleanup.

"The purpose of the kit is to introduce potential builders to the experience of working with composites," said Scott Wick, President of Wicks Aircraft Supply. "This way an individual can make a more informed decision and have a better idea of what he or she would be getting into if they elect to build a complete airframe."

The Composite Starter Kit is identified as part CK and is available for $95.
