Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research (WMT&R) continues to expand the capacity and testing capabilities of its Aluminum Center of Excellence. The Nadcap and A2LA accredited facility is dedicated to the preparation and testing of aluminum-based materials for the aerospace and other advanced industries.
Fast turnaround for aluminum production lot release and a consistent high volume of aluminum testing requests were the key reasons for establishing a facility dedicated to aluminum. To keep the testing process as efficient as possible, WMT&R manufactures, inspects and tests aluminum specimens all under one roof. The Aluminum Center machines and manufactures all specimen types on site and has an extensive collection of saws, CNC lathes, and CNC mills.
The Aluminum Center has the capacity to handle wide-ranging projects, from large-scale, long-term testing programs, to smaller, quick-turnaround testing requests. WMT&R is equipped with an extensive collection of servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical test frames with load capacities ranging from grams to 1 million pounds.
