Aerolloy strengthens capabilities with VAR furnace and major contracts

Aerolloy's newly commissioned VAR furnace and key approvals from IAI, Safran and Dassault have elevated its position in the global aerospace sector.

Aerolloy Technologies Limited has significantly broadened its capabilities, establishing itself as a global player in the aerospace materials market.

The company has commissioned India's first Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) furnace, a state-of-the-art technology that enables the production of aerospace-grade Titanium alloy ingots.

The German-manufactured VAR furnace will allow Aerolloy to produce Titanium alloys with superior metallurgical structure and uniform composition; qualities that are essential for aerospace applications such as jet engines and industrial gas turbines. By possessing this advanced capability, Aerolloy will join a small group of manufacturers in countries like the United States, Russia, China and a few European nations, marking a major milestone for India's growing role in advanced manufacturing and materials technology.

At the same time, the company has achieved recent success in securing global contracts, further enhancing its international presence. Aerolloy received approval from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to supply cast components for aerospace applications, marking IAI's first sourcing of such components from India.

Aerolloy also gained approval from Safran Aircraft Engines (SAE) to develop and supply Titanium and Super Alloy castings for aero engines, which will also be Safran's first sourcing of such parts from India.

The company has also entered into a multi-year agreement with Dassault Aviation, under which Aerolloy will supply a full range of Titanium casting parts for the Rafale fighter and Falcon business jet programmes, starting in 2024.

As part of its collaboration with Dassault, Aerolloy has additionally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore further opportunities for cooperation, including the potential purchase of Titanium casting parts and raw materials tailored for the defence and aerospace sectors. The MoU represents a crucial step in solidifying Aerolloy’s position as a reliable source of critical aerospace materials and components.
