Carbon composite builders onboard for first eFlyer 2

The EASA-certified electric aircraft will combine aerodynamic efficiency with full carbon fibre structures tailored for flight training durability.

Bye Aerospace has partnered with carbon fibre specialist Composite Approach to build the first structural composite aircraft for the eFlyer 2 electric training platform. The eFlyer 2 will be the first electric aircraft to feature an EASA-certified electric engine and high-density batteries, integrated into an efficient, purpose-built airframe.

Composite Approach will provide full-airframe, aerospace-grade carbon fibre manufacturing, helping the aircraft meet performance and durability demands of the training sector.

"This collaboration represents a turning point for electric aviation," says Rod Zastrow, CEO of Bye Aerospace. "By combining our all-electric, aerodynamically efficient design with Composite Approach's mastery of lightweight composite structures, we can demonstrate the first commercially viable all-electric aircraft to address the high costs of pilot training."
