Collins supplies key systems for US Army’s next-gen FLRAA

Work across multiple US sites will support delivery of key onboard systems for the Army’s first clean sheet rotorcraft in decades.

Collins Aerospace has secured multiple contracts from Bell Textron to supply five systems for the US Army’s MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft, extending its role within the next-generation rotorcraft programme.

The agreement covers delivery of main power generation, interconnect drive systems, SmartProbe air data systems, cockpit seating and ice protection. Several elements will be provided through commercial acquisition authorities, reflecting a push to accelerate fielding timelines.

Positioned as the Army’s first clean sheet rotorcraft in a generation, the MV-75 FLRAA is designed to deliver roughly double the speed and range of legacy platforms. The programme is built around digital engineering methods and a modular open systems architecture to support long-term adaptability.

Production and development work tied to Collins’ scope will take place across multiple US states, including Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, Ohio and West Virginia.
