Archer selects Bristol for UK engineering hub

The hub will support advanced commercial and defence engineering programmes, strengthening collaboration with Anduril UK and GKN on British Army and Ministry of Defence initiatives.

Archer has selected Bristol as the home of its UK Engineering Hub, supporting advanced engineering initiatives across its commercial and defence programmes.

Bristol was chosen for its long aerospace history and strong engineering talent base. Since confirming plans for the UK hub in December, Archer has received hundreds of applications and has begun hiring engineers to support its next phase of advanced aerospace and defence development.

The new workforce will support collaboration with Anduril UK and GKN. Initial work will focus on joint activity linked to the British Army’s Project NYX and the Ministry of Defence’s Land Autonomous Collaborative Platform programme.

Adam Goldstein, CEO and founder of Archer, says: “We want to hire the best engineers the UK has to offer. Bristol has a strong industrial base and a deep talent pool that makes that possible. This market is a big area of focus for us moving forward and our UK hub will be our home base.”

Archer’s defence activities are anchored by its strategic partnership with Anduril, which selected Archer as its exclusive partner to develop a hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft tailored for US and allied defence applications.

The company is continuing to hire engineering talent.
