Collins expands landing gear production in Poland

The construction project is expected to finish by early 2026 after RTX invested in the expansion of its Tajęcina site in 2024.

Collins Aerospace is expanding its facility in Tajęcina, Poland, to increase production of landing gear systems for commercial and defence aircraft. The 4,000 square-metre extension will enhance RTX’s operational capability in the country, where it already employs more than 9,100 people, the company’s largest workforce outside the United States.

“This expansion builds on our proven track record of delivering high-performance landing gear systems that our commercial and defense customers rely on every day,” says Matt Maurer, vice president of Landing Systems at Collins Aerospace. “By increasing our manufacturing capacity in Poland, we’re ensuring we can meet growing demand worldwide for our products.”

Collins’ landing gear systems include main, nose and wing assemblies made of high-strength metals to withstand harsh environments. They integrate steering, braking and control systems designed to improve performance and reduce maintenance. RTX has operated in Poland for more than 45 years with eight engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and R&D sites. The Tajęcina facility opened in 2012, with expansion construction starting in November 2024 and scheduled for completion in February 2026.
