Diamond shows multiple avionics and cabin upgrades

Demonstrator aircraft at Friedrichshafen show updated Garmin systems, lighting, power and cabin features across the Diamond range.

Diamond Aircraft is using AERO Friedrichshafen 2026 to show a broad set of upgrades across its aircraft family, with several features appearing in public for the first time.

The company is displaying the DA20i, DA42-VI, DA50 RG and DA62 in Hall A4, with the latter three presented as new demonstrator aircraft showcasing updates to comfort, technology and design across the range.

The DA50 RG in particular brings the clearest visual change, with a customised exterior and interior scheme combining anthracite and racing green paintwork with light green and carbon black accents. Inside, the aircraft receives a “DYNAMIC” cabin treatment with premium two-tone materials and contrasting green stitching.

Diamond Aircraft is also confirming certification of several Garmin avionics additions for the DA62 at the show. These include the Garmin GWX 8000 Weather Radar, Garmin GTS 800 Traffic System and GTX 345DR ADS-B In/Out (diversity), expanding the model’s available cockpit capability.

Elsewhere, the manufacturer is rolling out a series of wider portfolio upgrades where applicable. LED taxi and landing lights from Whelen Aerospace Technologies are now standard on the DA62, DA50 RG and DA42-VI, while upgraded USB-C ports are also standard on those aircraft, with higher-output charging for both pilots and passengers.

Further cabin changes include a redesigned leather pilot control stick for the DA62 and DA50 RG, optional on the DA42-VI, magnetic door-closing straps for the DA62 and DA50 RG, optional passenger tablet mounting points and tailored luggage sets for the DA62 and DA50 RG.
