Heads Up acquires cabin lighting expert STG

STG Aerospace's concept-to-certification capability and extensive intellectual property are expected to provide a valuable boost for Heads Up Technologies' portfolio of lighting innovations.

Heads Up Technologies, a manufacturer of lighting systems, cabin management systems, and flight deck safety products, has acquired STG Aerospace, a manufacturer of proprietary aircraft cabin lighting products based in Cwmbran, UK and Miami, FL.

Established in the UK in 1995 with the vision of making flying safer and more cost-effective, STG Aerospace designed the first photoluminescent emergency guidance systems for aircraft, and in 2011 pioneered the LED mood lighting system, liTeMood. The company is well known in the commercial aviation market for its high-performing photoluminescent floor path marketing system, Saf-T-Glo.

This is the first acquisition by Heads Up Technologies since partnering with JLL Partners in 2019.
