Sarla plans 500-acre eVTOL giga factory in Andhra Pradesh

The MoU for the integrated campus was signed by government ministers and will enable production of up to 1,000 aircraft annually.

Sarla Aviation has confirmed that the formal MoU for its planned 500-acre aerospace giga campus in Andhra Pradesh has been signed and handed over in person by Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The event also included Shri Ram Mohan Naidu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Shri B.C. Janardhan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Roads & Buildings and Infrastructure & Investment.

The facility will manufacture electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft and serve as India’s first integrated eVTOL campus, with capabilities across design, build, testing, training and maintenance. It is being developed with an initial investment of ₹1,300 crore and further funding is expected.

This giga facility will shape the aircraft of the future, create thousands of high-skill jobs, and establish India as a global force in sustainable aerial mobility.”

The project will include advanced manufacturing lines, India's largest wind tunnel, a two-kilometre runway and VTOL testing pads, along with labs, pilot training and MRO support.

Sarla Aviation says the campus is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating renewable energy, water-recycling and circular economy systems. It is also working with the Andhra Pradesh government to develop UAM corridors and vertiports to support air taxi operations by 2029.
