FE-SIL joint venture wins T-7A wiring contract

Under the multi-year contract, FE-SIL will deliver the wiring systems for the aft fuselage of the Boeing-Saab T-7A jet that will train fighter and bomber pilots. The first EWIS ship-set is scheduled for delivery in 2022.

Red Hawk's aft airframe arrives in St Louis

Saab's airframe section will complete the test aircraft for the EMD's flight test program. Including hydraulics, fuel and secondary power, it forms the centre structure from behind the cockpit to the end of the aircraft.

Boeing completes first production digital splice of Red Hawk

It took just half an hour to join the front and aft sections of the T-7A trainer, with a 98% reduction in drilling defects. The latest digital techniques are delivering an improvement of 50% in production quality.

The first delivery has been made from Sweden, but Saab's brand new facility in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA will undertake future production of the aft sections for the T-7A program.
