Woodward has begun work with Boeing and plans to produce the actuators by 2026, while Safran is to provide electrical power. Test flights of the Transonic Truss-braced Wing X-66A are scheduled to begin in 2028.

VoltAero chooses Safran electrical wiring for the Cassio 330

Safran will supply the propulsion system’s ENGINeUS 100 electric motor, which delivers a maximum power of more than 150 kW at takeoff. This integrates its own control electronics as well as an air-cooling system.

The ENGINeUS 100 delivers more than 100kW at take-off and features a fully integrated motor controller within the machine. The thermal management is provided by an optimised air-cooling system.
