The first production aircraft version will be the Cassio 330, with a four/five-seat interior configuration and operating on a combined electric-hybrid propulsion power of 330 kilowatts.

VoltAero chooses Safran electrical wiring for the Cassio 330

Safran will supply the propulsion system’s ENGINeUS 100 electric motor, which delivers a maximum power of more than 150 kW at takeoff. This integrates its own control electronics as well as an air-cooling system.

Avidyne supplies Quantum glass cockpit for Cassio 330

The Cassio 330 will be equipped with a glass cockpit incorporating Avidyne’s new-generation Quantum 14-inch displays in a dual PFD/MFD (Primary Flight Display/Multi-function Display) configuration.

14 July 2021 Construction of the purpose-built final assembly line for VoltAero’s family of Cassio hybrid-electric aircraft, will begin later this year.

VoltAero selects French airport for Cassio production line

The facility will incorporate an assembly line, logistics areas and offices. Construction is expected to begin in 2022. VoltAero anticipates producing approximately 150 aircraft per year across the Cassio aircraft family.

VoltAero has been selected by the European Innovation Council to receive multi-million euro funding for the development of the Cassio hybrid-electric aircraft.

Sonaca to develop airframe for hybrid-electric Cassio

VoltAero's four-seat Cassio 330 could be in customer hands by 2023, with Sonaca's help to transition into serial manufacturing in Nouvelle Aquitaine. Larger models will follow.
