Pratt & Whitney and PBS partner on next-gen APU

The Czech Ministry of Defense backed the partnership as the companies worked to create a smaller and lighter APU with higher power density.

5 October 2022 The Pratt & Whitney GTF Advantage engine has taken flight on an Airbus A320neo aircraft.

GTF Advantage takes to the air on the A320neo

Engine certification will continue through the first half of 2023, including flights currently under way on the P&W flying test bed in Mirabel, as well as endurance testing to ensure product maturity at entry into service.

FLRAA contender features Honeywell's proven generators

Team DEFIANT has selected a derivative of Honeywell's GTCP 36-150 auxiliary power units series, as well as its main engine generator and APU generator. Honeywell was already onboard with the main engine.

Diamond's DART gains PWC turboprop power

The aerobatic trainer powered by the PT6A-25C turboprop engine will be named DART-750 and will, as previously envisaged, come with the state-of-the-art Garmin G3000 avionics suite and optional ejection seats.

19 January 2022 Safran will provide engines and other equipment on H160M and H160 helicopters for the French armed forces and Gendarmerie.

Safran chalks up diverse involvement in the H160M

Designed, built and supported in France, Arrano engines will power the French armed forces' Leopard helicopter. Safran will also supply a range of other systems and components for the program.
