7 October 2021 Gulfstream introduces the G800, its longest range aircraft and the G400 in the large cabin aircraft class.

The G800 is the longest range aircraft in Gulfstream history and will be powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, while the G400 aims for comfort and high speed, with PW812GA Pratt & Whitney engines.

It is being developed to fly with a 80km range and to reach a cruising speed of 120km/h. With sound levels below 65 dB(A) during fly-over and below 70 dB(A) during landing.

Airbus flight tests engine backup system on Flightlab

The Flightlab helicopter was equipped with an electric motor connected to the main gearbox, providing electrical power for 30 seconds in the event of engine failure, giving the pilot extra time to react.

29 September 2021 During the testing the X-59 will fly at supersonic speeds over communities as part of the low boom flight demonstration. NASA will then gather community feedback to the noise of the quiet supersonic flight.

X-59 prepares for quiet supersonic flight testing

The Lockheed Martin X-59's nose design should allow for quiet supersonic flight, turning the usual sonic boom into a quiet sonic thump. The aircraft will be tested over residential areas and noise feedback will be collected.
