Liebherr supplies first complex 3D printed component for A350

Liebherr started the serial production of 3D printed parts in 2019, but this valve of the lower cargo door actuator system is a much more complex component for the same aircraft.

Rolls-Royce delivers 1,000th Trent XWB–84

The Trent XWB-84 entered into service in 2015. The 1000th engine was produced at Rolls-Royce's Derby assembly line and will power an Airbus A350-900.

FACC says 50% of the Airbus A350's weight consists of composite lightweight components and this enables it to use 25% less fuel than its predecessor, as well as being up to 60% quieter.

FACC supplies 1,000th A350 thrust reverser housing

Since the start of the project FACC has invested around 50 million euros in the development and manufacture of the components and it says newly developed composite materials result in considerable weight savings.

The benefits of lower fuel burn, a carbon-fibre fuselage and wings and a quiet cabin have taken A350 orders well over 900, and fleet customers based in China will now have their aircraft completed in Tianjin.
