Beechcraft Denali begins flight test program

The Beechcraft Denali prototype, powered by a GE Catalyst engine, reached an altitude of 15,600 feet and a speed of 180 knots during the two hour and 50 minute first flight. Certification is anticipated in 2023.

Catalyst takes flight as first fully European turboprop for 50 years

The Catalyst engine took part in a test flight which lasted for one hour and 40 minutes. The turboprop features a 16:1 overall pressure ratio, enabling it to achieve 20% lower fuel burn compared to the competition.

The prototype single engine turboprop Beechcraft Denali has successfully had GE Aviation's 1,300 shaft horsepower Catalyst engine installed and the initial ground engine runs have been completed.
