The successful flight test validates the company's licensed cargo drone technology for commercial flights in Europe, set to begin later this year.
Dronamics says that a new agreement ensures the production of its cargo drones to support the demand for the commercial routes to be launched in Europe in 2023.
With the first units landing in 2023, Dronamics and Quickstep's long-term plan targets the ramp-up of production of hundreds of Black Swan cargo drones annually in the next four years.
Dronamics' proprietary Black Swan drone is powered by energy efficient technologies, running at 80-100% lower emissions than other means of transportation. Furthermore, its certified engine runs on biofuels.
The piston engine-powered Black Swan will carry up to 350kg of cargo up to 2,500km, providing a low-cost logistics option for remote communities. It will be able to run on synthetic fuel.
