Airbus UpNext will replace the standard APU of an A330 with a hydrogen fuel cell system. Known as HyPower, this could reduce emissions of CO2, nitrogen oxides (NOx) and noise levels.

Lockheed Martin confirms CF6-80E1 will power tanker

The LMXT will first be produced as an A330 airliner at Airbus' U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama, before being configured for strategic tanking at the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics facility in Marietta, Georgia.

Automatic air-to-air refuelling involves advanced technologies to identify the receiving aircraft's shape and its refuelling receptacle, then perform automated contact and fuel transfer while flying at high altitude.
