Aircraft program
The IA-63 Pampa is an advanced jet trainer with combat capability. Versions currently in production are the Pampa II and Pampa III.
It has all-metal structure in the form of semi-monocoque with stressed skin, and a single engine. The fuel tank is integral to the two-spar wing box, and the wings are shoulder-mounted. Tricycle landing gear is hydraulically extended and designed for unprepared surfaces. Ailerons, rudder, tailplane, Fowler flaps and airbrake are hydraulically-powered, and primary surfaces have tandem actuators.
Accommodates two pilots in tandem with ejector seats, in a pressurised and air conditioned area under a single-piece canopy. Three-screen EFIS with optional helmet-mounted display.
First prototype flew in 1984 and the first production model in 1987. First production Pampa III flew in 2018.
