Aleris Zhenjiang qualifies to supply COMAC in China for C919 program

Aleris today announced that the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) has qualified the company's new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Zhenjiang, China, to supply aluminum plate for COMAC's C919 commercial aircraft program.

With this certification, Aleris' Zhenjiang facility becomes a qualified supplier of the 7050, 7075 and 2024 alloy series to COMAC.

"This is another significant milestone for Aleris toward supplying aerospace plate from our new rolling mill in Zhenjiang," said John Zhu, senior vice president and president of Aleris China. "We appreciate our long-standing partnership with COMAC and look forward to delivering the innovation and quality that the aerospace industry has come to expect of Aleris."
