COMAC C919

In production

Narrow-body commercial airliner.

The airframe, made entirely in China, is primarily constructed of aluminium alloy (fuselage and wing boxes) with 8.8% of structure from aluminium-lithium alloys and less than 10% of composite materials (tailbone, tailplane and fin). Supercritical design wings are low, swept back with upturned tips. Chinese-Western joint ventures provide the majority of aircraft systems.

Launched with twin LEAP-XIC turbofan engines, the indigenous ACAE CJ-1000AX engine is in development and offered as alternative from 2021.

Two pilots face two display screens with a third below the window, a side-control stick control and Honeywell fly-by-wire system.
