03/07/2017

Press releaseIssued by Antonov ASTC.

On July 3, 2017, a delegation from the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure visited ANTONOV Company. During the visit cooperation between Ukraine and the USA in the field of aviation was discussed.

In particular, ANTONOV Company proposed joint development of the AN−77 program, the upgraded version of the medium STOL transport aircraft. This airplane can occupy the gap between the C−130, with a payload up to 21 tons, and the C−17, up to 76 tons.

ANTONOV Company proposed to organise cooperation involving a number of US enterprises in the aircraft industry and equipment suppliers.

Within this project, interaction would take place between the aviation state authorities: State Aviation Administration of Ukraine and of the US FAA. The conclusion of the interstate BASA (Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement) will be one of the key steps of this joint program.
