Fire alarm, intrusion alarm, access control, video surveillance and voice alarm systems have been installed across Deutsche’s Leipzig/Halle Airport complex.
Deutsche Aircraft has selected Bosch Building Technologies to supply building security and life safety systems for the regional aircraft production site it is constructing at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
The systems integrator has planned and implemented an integrated security solution for the complex, which comprises a final assembly line, a commissioning hangar, a logistics centre and an administrative building. The Leipzig facility will be the home of D328eco final assembly, bringing regional aircraft production back to Germany after a gap of approximately 20 years.
The fire alarm, intrusion alarm, access control, video surveillance and voice alarm systems installed by Bosch are networked. At the heart of the solution is the Building Integration System 360 (BIS 360), a higher-level management system that centralises all security-related data so that the responsible personnel are able to quickly assess and react to situations.
Sebastian Böhnl, Vice President Operations & Production at Deutsche Aircraft, says: “Each area of our new site has different requirements for security, safety, access control, threat management and organisational security.”
In the administrative building, the priority is protecting employees, visitors and sensitive business information. The production and logistics areas are characterised by complex processes, goods flows and safety-critical operations, while the hangar places particularly stringent requirements on access control, surveillance and emergency management.
Fire alarm systems detect potential hazards early on across the large production, storage and hangar areas. An access control system ensures only authorised individuals can enter specific areas, with special controlled entry systems protecting particularly sensitive access points against tailgating. Intercom systems link entrances, the security control centre and sensitive operational zones. The installation also supports safe evacuation along escape and emergency routes and includes a system of master key depots that keeps critical keys readily available for the fire department and other emergency personnel.
Dr Marcus Nadenau, Senior Vice President of the Building Solutions business unit at Bosch Building Technologies, adds: “When faced with a situation that involves both complex production processes and maximum security requirements, you need solutions that work reliably.”
The integrated approach is intended to support process continuity and scalable production as Deutsche Aircraft progresses towards industrialisation of the D328eco programme.
