Cirrus announces Max-Viz EVS availability

14/11/2008

Press releaseIssued by Astronics PECO.

Max-Viz, Inc. announced today that Cirrus Design Corporation, a recognized global leader in the manufacturing of personal aircraft, is offering Perspective EVS, an Enhanced Vision System by Max-Viz, for installation on SR20, SR22 and Turbo aircraft.

Perspective EVS, developed by Max-Viz for Cirrus, is a multi-sensor system that blends visible light with traditional infra-red imagery.

Perspective EVS offers advantages to pilots during virtually all phases of their flight: taxi; take-off and climb; en-route; approach and landing. In particular, "seeing" clouds at night and avoiding potential icing conditions, turbulence or thunderstorms is invaluable with the new system.

Cirrus Chairman and CEO Alan Klapmeier noted, "The capability of the SR20, SR22 and Turbo has changed the way Cirrus owners use their aircraft. Perspective EVS adds another dimension of safety for night operations."

"This complements and builds on Garmin's Synthetic Vision Technology - which shows what should be there … now Perspective EVS shows you what is really there," Klapmeier continued.

Perspective EVS is available only in Cirrus equipped with the 12-inch Garmin screens.

Lou Churchville, Vice President, Business Development of Max-Viz added, "By sponsoring the initiative to migrate high-end EVS technology into the SR-series of aircraft, Cirrus once again demonstrates its innovative leadership. Max-Viz is proud to be the EVS supplier of choice for Cirrus aircraft."

All SR22 and Turbo aircraft equipped with Cirrus Perspective have provisions made for easy installation targeted to take less than two hours. Contact Cirrus at www.CIRRUSdesign.com.
