25/07/2011

Press releaseIssued by Donaldson Company, Aerospace & Defense.

Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a division of Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), announced today that all of its general aviation piston engine air filters now use 100 percent dry synthetic media. This industry-leading technology provides customers high efficiency, a long filter life (up to 500 flight hours), three years of service or five cleanings (whichever comes first) and exceptional wet weather performance.

"As our customers' equipment and technology advances, we continue to develop innovative solutions that anticipate and exceed their evolving requirements," said Sheila Peyraud, Worldwide General Manager, Donaldson Aerospace & Defense. "Advancing the design of our general aviation engine air filters by using 100 percent synthetic media is another example of how Donaldson remains at the forefront of air filtration technology."

Donaldson will showcase its newly-designed filters at the 2011 EAA AirVenture Show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. On display at this year's show will be General Aviation air intake filters with 100% dry synthetic media for:

• Cessna 206H & T206H

• Cessna 210

• Piper PA 46 Malibu

• Piper PA32 Saratoga

• And others

Since developing the company's first oiled filter media in the 1930's, Donaldson has continued to be the leader in the technological advancement of air filtration for engine systems. The company has a long history of developing upgraded, dry media barrier filters for the general aviation industry that provide greater engine protection and increased filter life. Airflow tests show Donaldson's general aviation filters allow for maximum engine horsepower compared to other filter elements used on General Aviation piston powered aircraft. Manufactured using pleated, 100 percent synthetic media, Donaldson filters are optimized to offer low restriction and superior engine protection. Maintenance is easy with no messy oils or cleaning agents.
