Fathom Digital Manufacturing expands aerospace and defence platform with three strategic acquisitions

13/10/2026

Press releaseIssued by PGM Corporation.

CORE Industrial Partners, a manufacturing, industrial technology and industrial services-focused private equity firm, today announced that its portfolio company, Fathom Digital Manufacturing, has acquired TCS Industries, TCS Electronics and Precision Grinding & Manufacturing Corporation (PGM), expanding its precision manufacturing capabilities and presence in the aerospace and defence markets.

The acquisitions advance Fathom's strategy to build a leading U.S. precision manufacturing platform at a time when aerospace and defence companies are seeking to strengthen domestic supply chains, augment production capacity and bring increasingly complex technologies to market. By combining advanced manufacturing, electronics integration and specialised production capabilities, Fathom is better positioned to support customers from early-stage development and prototyping through qualified, sustained production.

TCS and PGM bring decades of aerospace and defence experience, longstanding customer relationships and complementary capabilities spanning precision machining, electronics manufacturing, complex assemblies and specialised finishing. The acquisitions increase Fathom's nationwide footprint to 10 facilities and approximately 700 employees, creating additional capacity to support technically demanding programmes while helping customers address production bottlenecks and reduce supply chain complexity.

"The aerospace and defense industry is entering a period of significant investment in domestic manufacturing capacity, and suppliers that can combine technical expertise, quality and reliable execution will play an increasingly important role," said Matthew Puglisi, Partner at CORE. "We believe TCS and PGM are outstanding businesses with strong customer relationships and capabilities that complement Fathom's existing platform. These acquisitions position Fathom to pursue larger opportunities across aerospace and defense while continuing to invest in the people, technology and manufacturing capabilities needed to support long-term growth."

Headquartered in Hartland, Wisconsin, Fathom provides more than 25 advanced manufacturing services, including additive manufacturing, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection moulding, tooling, assembly, finishing and engineering support. The addition of TCS and PGM further reinforces Fathom's ability to address growing demand for precision components, integrated electronics and complex assemblies, particularly as customers look to streamline supplier relationships and move more efficiently from development into production.

"The challenge for aerospace and defense manufacturers isn't just developing new technologies. It's having the manufacturing expertise and capacity to produce them reliably and at scale," said Rush LaSelle, Chief Executive Officer of Fathom. "TCS and PGM bring exceptional technical talent, proven capabilities and deep customer relationships that make our platform stronger. Together, we can support more complex programs, provide customers with a broader range of solutions and help them navigate the increasing demands of aerospace and defense manufacturing."

TCS Industries and TCS Electronics, based in Rochester, New York, have nearly 35 years of experience supporting aerospace and defence customers. Their capabilities include precision CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, aluminium dip brazing, welding, electro-mechanical box builds, PCB assemblies and cable and wire harnesses. TCS operates two facilities totalling more than 200,000 square feet and has built a reputation for quality, responsiveness and technical execution.

"For nearly 35 years, we've built TCS around the trust of our customers and the expertise of our employees," said Manoj Shekar, founder and President of TCS. "Joining Fathom gives us the resources and broader capabilities to build on that success while maintaining the customer focus and operating discipline that have defined our business. We're excited about the opportunities ahead for our employees and customers."

Precision Grinding & Manufacturing, also headquartered in Rochester, brings nearly six decades of experience in precision manufacturing, including CNC machining, milling, turning, grinding, lapping, honing, assembly and specialised finishing. PGM supports aerospace and defence customers from low- and mid-volume manufacturing through full-rate production, with expertise in technically demanding components requiring rigorous quality control and documentation.

"Our family has spent nearly six decades building a business known for precision, reliability and customer service," said Todd Hockenberger, Corporate VP of PGM. "Fathom shares those values and brings the resources and broader capabilities to help us take the next step. We look forward to investing in our people, expanding our capabilities and supporting the next generation of aerospace and defense programs."

Both TCS and PGM hold AS9100 certifications and ITAR registrations, further strengthening Fathom's capabilities in highly regulated markets.

Winston Taylor provided legal representation to CORE and Fathom in the transactions.
