20/06/2011

Press releaseIssued by Acron Aviation (was L3Harris/L3 Aviation Products).

L-3 Avionics Systems announced today that Cessna Aircraft Company has selected the GH-3900 series Electronic Standby Instrument System (ESIS) as standard equipment on the latest model of its flagship aircraft, the Citation Ten. This award marks the tenth Cessna platform on which L-3 equipment is now standard. Cessna, a Textron (NYSE: TXT) company, will begin deliveries of the Citation Ten in 2013.

"The next-generation GH-3900 series delivers precision and reliability in a package that operates seamlessly with the Citation Ten's ultra-modern cockpit," said Larry Riddle, vice president of business development for L-3 Avionics Systems. "It's a safety enhancer that can meet the demands of the aircraft's high-speed, high-altitude flight profile and easily integrates with the primary systems. L-3 is honored to continue our long-standing relationship with Cessna, and we remain committed to designing top-of-the-line safety products."

Designed to replace conventional electromechanical standby instruments, the GH-3900 series renders all the important cues on a clear and compact three-inch display. Combined flight and navigation data are provided in an EFIS-like arrangement to create a system that facilitates sustained control and safe navigation if primary avionics fail.

With a customizable layout, L-3's GH-series instruments can be modified to match a wide range of primary systems, giving pilots a familiar reference by which to fly the aircraft.

GH-series instruments also feature:

- Easy adaption to most flight decks with standard 3-ATI mounting cutout

- Full range of navigation interfaces with modes for FMS, NAV, VOR, ILS and TACAN

- Increased reliability and performance over electromechanical systems

- Installer-programmable data configuration module and field-loadable software

- Certified ARINC 429 outputs and option for internal accelerometers

- Minimal power draw

- Exceptional readability with active matrix LCD screen

- Customizable layout to match EFIS displays

All GH-series instruments are developed with L-3 Avionics Systems' advanced solid-state expertise, which has made the company a leader in electronic standby instrument systems for high-end business and military aircraft.
