LATelec delivers the first avionics bays for the Airbus A400M

By delivering the first avionics bay for the A400M in accordance with the programme schedule, LATelec confirms its expertise in this field, after the supply of the corresponding bays for the A330/340 and the A380. This new generation integrates an important innovation: the use of TPFL composite in the carrying structure. The implementation of this technology is the fruit of an internal research programme going on with the perspective of the A350XWB.

The Latecoere Group teams "structure and wiring" have once again worked closely together and have thus contributed to the definition of the structural elements and the routing of cables so as to carry out a high-performance and innovative equipment, particulary optimized.

The main avionics bay can contain more than 100 on-board computers and the wiring part, making the electrical links, represents 30,000 connections as a minimum for 25kms of cables.

The FAI (First Article Inspection) which took place on March 8th, in Labege, allowed the validation of a set completely made from a 3D definition and design mock-up, in compliance with the electrical definition, with zero defect thanks to an exhaustive electrical test. As sson as it was delivered in Saint-Nazaire, it was immediately installed in the nose cone of the aircraft, without difficulty.
