Meggitt wins major Airbus A350 XWB contract

Meggitt PLC ("Meggitt"), the international aerospace, defence and performance sensors group, today announces that Meggitt Safety Systems has been awarded a major contract from Airbus, France to design, develop, manufacture and support the fire protection system on the new A350 aircraft.

Terry Twigger, chief executive of Meggitt, commented: "This new contract further strengthens Meggitt's position as a leading supplier of safety-critical equipment to Airbus, building on our previous successes on the Airbus A380 and A400M aircraft."

Meggitt Safety Systems is a leading supplier of fire protection systems and equipment to the civil and military aerospace markets.
