Rockwell Collins' Talon radio selected by Embraer for Brazilian Air Force I-X project

Rockwell Collins announced today that its Talon radio has been selected by Embraer for the Brazilian Air Force I-X Project.

“This is a key program win for us, as it represents our first Talon radio sale to Embraer for a Brazilian Air Force program, and is a complement to our existing Talon radio position on Brazilian Army rotary aircraft,” said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, Americas for Rockwell Collins. “With this contract, our invesent and relationships in Brazil continue to grow stronger, as they have for the past 40 years.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide Talon radios for six Embraer Legacy 500 aircraft, which also feature Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion® avionics. Under the Brazilian Air Force I-X Project, the Legacy 500 aircraft will be used for flight inspection and airport calibration missions.

One of the unique features of the program is the ability to smoothly and easily integrate the Talon radios into the Pro Line Fusion avionics, both proven solutions developed by Rockwell Collins.
