Rohde & Schwarz joins the Ingolstadt Urban Air Mobility initiative as a new partner

Rohde & Schwarz has joined the Ingolstadt UAM initiative as an additional industry partner. Christian Leicher, President and CEO of Rohde & Schwarz, yesterday signed a manifesto of intent at a partner network meeting. The initiative is supported by the European Commission. Its aim is to research the deployment of aircraft for urban mobility through practical studies and model tests.

"As a technology company, we want to create the communications and safety technology of the future. Along with concepts such as autonomous driving, mobility in the third dimension will shape tomorrow's connected smart cities. Among other things, achieving urban air mobility depends on the seamless integration of various technologies into aircraft, such as onboard sensors, flight connectivity, communications links and air navigation. Manufacturers can use these solutions to verify the faultless system performance of their UAM aircraft and services, which is a decisive factor for safety and reliability in urban airspace.
