Skyros, the electric aircraft born in Brazil to revolutionize global agricultural business

The agricultural revolution took flight with the first flight of Skyros, an electric aircraft created for agribusiness through a partnership between Dakila Research Association and the Brazilian company Vertical Connect. The partnership reinforces Dakila's commitment to developing technologies that transform daily life and presents an innovation that promises to change the course of agricultural aviation.

Classified as an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, Skyros ushers in a new era of efficiency, sustainability, and autonomy. The model has eight motors, eight propellers, a 400-liter fuel tank, and high-density batteries. It features fast charging, independent safety systems, and a flight range of 50 to 60 minutes. The entire project was developed in Brazil.

The aircraft is electric and autonomous and can be piloted remotely or programmed to operate independently. The owner defines the route, mapping, and application type, and Skyros executes the mission automatically.

Weighing 700 kilograms and capable of transporting various types of inputs, Skyros surpasses the performance of traditional agricultural aircraft. While conventional models cover about 350 acres per day and cost up to R$3,000 per hour of flight, Skyros covers 450 acres per day, costing between R$150 and R$170 per hour. Besides being more efficient, it is sustainable and economical, as its electric motor does not require fossil fuels. Maintenance is required after five years of use.

Agricultural drones face significant limitations. The world's largest model carries 100 liters and flies for only 17 minutes. Skyros, with four times the capacity, fills this gap between drones and traditional aircraft. The safety system includes automatic landing and a ballistic parachute, a first for agribusiness.

Developed over three years, Skyros accelerated its development after investment from the Dakila Association, which allowed it to quickly reach the market. "Dakila was founded with the purpose of developing technologies that improve life on the planet. Skyros is proof of this commitment. We are delivering to the world a solution that combines sustainability, innovation, and accessibility," says Urandir de Oliveira, president of the institution.

The partnership with Vertical Connect also includes the development of six new electric models for firefighting, policing, logistics, and passenger transportation, solidifying Brazil's position at the forefront of electric aviation.
