28/05/2021

Press releaseIssued by Solar Flight.

Solar Flight is happy to announce Becker Avionics as avionics partner to equip its pioneering solar powered touring airplane Sunseeker Duo with the AR6201 VHF transceiver

The Sunseeker Duo is Solar Flight's third original solar powered airplane design and first two seat airplane. It has a wingspan of 22 meters; an empty weight of 280 kg and 1510 solar cells with 23% efficiency. The Duo remains the only two-seat true solar powered airplane which has demonstrated the ability to fly on direct solar power. It has logged now many hundreds of hours flying around Europe, and introduced many passengers the unique experience flying with nature's unlimited

source of power.

During the summer of 2020 Solar Flight toured the west coast of Italy and made the Mediterranean crossing to land on the islands of Elba and Corsica. Cruising above the clouds Sunseeker Duo is assured a constant supply of energy to fly all day and cover long distances. As a touring airplane reliable communication equipment is essential, and Solar Flight is confident that Becker Avionics' well proven equipment is the best available on the market.
