SSJ100 factory turns 15 years old

Komsomolsk-on-Amur Branch of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (KnAF) on February 1 celebrated its 15th anniversary. At the ceremony marking the anniversary of the Branch, the next anniversary SSJ100 aircraft was transferred to the flight test station, opening the countdown of the third hundred aircraft produced.

"We have invested in the Superjet 100 aircraft the latest technologies not only in aerodynamics, airframe design and its systems, but also in production. Today SSJ100 aircraft are operated in airlines and various structures in the Russian Federation and abroad. The Superjet 100 is so far the only brand-new Russian passenger aircraft of domestic production certified in our country and abroad, "RSSK Director General Ravil Khakimov noted in his congratulation.

By the anniversary of the KnAF, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation noted with diplomas of the department three employees of the Branch - two engineers and a technician.

"Komsomolsk-on-Amur Branch is a unique production site in Russia. World principles of work based on a culture of rapid improvement work perfectly here. KnAF is one of the largest and most modern engineering enterprises in the Khabarovsk Territory, "said Minister of Industry of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Denisenko.

"A third of the world's aircraft in a dimension of 100 passengers today produced in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. We have made many of the most advanced production practices familiar to our employees: the kaizen culture, the methods of kan-ban and pi-dc-hey, the gemba principle. And we appreciate the responsible approach of each employee to his business, "said the director of KnAF Andrey Soinov.

To date, the total flight SSJ100 aircraft amounted to more than 700 thousand hours. "Superjets" in operation performed almost 450 thousand takeoffs and landings.
