Stirling wins Bombardier C-Series Loads contract

12/04/2011

Press releaseIssued by Stirling Dynamics Ltd..

Stirling Dynamics has won a contract with Bombardier Aerospace Montréal to provide ground loads, flight loads and component loads analysis for the C-Series aircraft programme.

The work covered under the new contract involves review and analysis of the recently completed design loads loop and includes structural and aerodynamic model build and validation against OEM data.

The ground loads analysis will primarily concentrate on landing cases, the flight loads activity on gust loads (vertical, lateral, round the clock and multi-axis) and the component loads activity will focus on providing slat design loads. All the work will be governed by EASA and FAR requirements.

Andrew Pfeil, Technical Director for Stirling Dynamics commented that; "We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Bombardier on their industry leading aircraft development programme. The C-Series contract is the realisation of a long-standing dialogue with Bombardier and provides an exceptional opportunity for us to demonstrate our key strengths".
