Taiwan’s Drone Alliance continues to grow after signing an MOU with the Polish Chamber of National Defense Manufacturers

16/11/2024

Press releaseIssued by Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC).

On November 15, a memorandum of understanding was signed by Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) Chairman Hu Kai-hung and Sławomir Kułakowski, president of the Polish Chamber of National Defense Manufacturers (PCNDM) NGO.

A newly formed 50-member Taiwanese drone supply chain alliance targeting overseas business opportunities held an official launch ceremony in this September under the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. AIDC Chairman Hu serves the head of the alliance, focusing on forging international links, seeking government-to-government (G to G) orders, and matching alliance member with potential customers.

With the commitment of the industry and government support, the production value of Taiwan's drone industry is expected to reach NT$30 billion (US$922 million) by 2028. The alliance plans to produce over 15,000 drones per month and aims to be the first drone supply chain hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

The signing ceremony was attended by a total of 45 domestic and foreign dignitaries from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwania Capital, Co-Chairman of Taiwanese drone supply chain alliance, alliance manufacturers, SKB S.A. Group, Polish Office in Taiwan, Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association, etc.

This marks the second "ally" of the Taiwanese drone supply chain alliance after Oklahoma in the United States. Taiwan and Poland will expand international sales of the drone industry, promote advanced technology and supply chain cooperation, and establish a communication platform to foster the competitiveness of both parties in the international industry.
