Traverse Aero accepted into 2025 MassChallenge Air Force Labs Accelerator

19/05/2025

Press releaseIssued by Traverse Aero Corporation.

Traverse Aero is proud to announce its acceptance into the 2025 MassChallenge Air Force Labs Accelerator, a program delivered in partnership with Hanscom Air Force Base to support dual-use ventures developing mission-critical technologies for the U.S. Air Force.

Traverse Aero is one of only 12 startups selected for the 6th cohort of Air Force Labs. As part of the program, participants will gain access to an unparalleled global network of partners, mentors, and experts committed to accelerating the transition of breakthrough technologies into defense applications.

“We are thrilled to include a high-potential startup like Traverse Aero in our 6th cohort,” said Will Magruder, Vice President of Partnerships at MassChallenge. “We’re excited to help them build relationships at Hanscom Air Force Base and support their pursuit of a Direct to Phase II SBIR.”

Traverse Aero’s family of autonomous, Multi-Mission, Utility, Logistics, & Expedition (MULE) platforms fill significant capability gaps across the defense forces, particularly in ACE (Agile Combat Employment) and contested environments. Their integration of hybrid powertrains and eVTOL propulsion is inline with the recent Air Force shift away from 100% battery-electric solutions and enables long-range mission capability while remaining independent of runways and other infrastructure requirements. With the power of AI and the ability to intelligently navigate through GPS-denied environments, these platforms are opening up many new possibilities for high risk, high reward missions.

As part of the program, Traverse Aero will focus on securing a Direct to Phase II SBIR (D2P2) and strengthening relationships within the Air Force innovation ecosystem.

“The company looks forward to working closely with the Hanscom acquisition community and other key stakeholders to advance high priority capabilities and ultimately enhance our national security,” said Scott Parker, CEO of Traverse Aero. “Traverse Aero remains committed to its mission of developing AI powered cargo drone solutions that revolutionize supply chains across the world.”

The 2025 MassChallenge Air Force Labs Accelerator will run until June 24th and culminates in a showcase event with Hanscom Leadership and the broader Dual-Use Community.
