Ultra awarded Embraer KC-390 contracts

Ultra announced today that Embraer Defense and Security has awarded Ultra's Controls business two contracts for its KC-390 military transport aircraft. The first award is for all the electronic controls and sensors for the landing gear, nose wheel steering and associated hydraulics. The second award is for all the electronic controls and sensors for the cargo door system which comprises the cargo door, ramp, ramp extension, paratrooper air deflector, stabilizer struts and associated hydraulics.

The systems consist of a range of electronic controllers and position sensors and Ultra will design and develop all hardware and software and support the integration with other systems on the aircraft. Development and manufacture of the systems will take place in the United Kingdom at Cambridge and Greenford, West London, respectively.
