Venturi raises 3.4M investment

The Delft company Maeve Aerospace has secured an investment of €3.4M for the further development of its electric 44-seat passenger aircraft. The company, formerly known as Venturi Aviation, presented its plans in January this year and has now secured funding to build the first prototypes.

Larger investments in electric flying

After raising a seed investment of €250k earlier in June 2021, the company is now scaling strongly with the recent investment of €3.4M. This is also the largest private investment in a fully electric Dutch passenger aircraft to date. The investors include a number of angels and a large Dutch family office, all unnamed.

Until now, Maeve's focus has mainly been on investigating the feasibility of electric flying. With the investment, Maeve can further develop the core technology behind electric flying, such as the battery system. The company is now scaling up to 24 employees and is currently looking for suitable locations to further support the development of its first aircraft.

A new name

With the new name, the company wants to usher in a new era. “The time for planning is behind us. We are now concretely developing the technology needed in any future electric passenger aircraft - a large-scale, lightweight and safe battery. When we have this technology and the IP behind it in our hands, we will make a serious impact,” said COO Joost Dieben.
