Safran is selected for V-280 Valor landing gear and braking
Safran Landing Systems will provide the landing gear system for the Bell Valor 280.

Experience with the V-22 Osprey will be invaluable now that Safran has been selected to provide landing gear and braking systems for the V-280 Valor program. Four sites in Europe and North America will play a part.

Safran Landing Systems is to provide the landing gear system for the V-280 Valor aircraft. Bell Textron's V-280 Valor is a next generation tiltrotor aircraft proposed for the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) Program.

Based on the agreement, Safran Landing Systems will develop and manufacture a fully integrated landing gear system consisting of the main landing gear, tail landing gear, wheels and brakes, extension/retraction system, steering system, brake control system and indication sensors. The development, test and manufacturing activities will be conducted in four Safran Landing Systems sites in North America and Europe. The primary management of this program will be based in the company's facility in Ajax, Ontario, Canada.
