The two-seater aircraft features a Rotax 912 iSc3 Sport engine and Garmin G500TXi avionics, offering greater efficiency and performance.

Responding to growing demand from flight schools, flying clubs and private owners, Diamond Aircraft has resumed European production of the two-seater, single-engine DA20i Katana. The aircraft is powered by a Rotax 912 iSc3 Sport engine and fitted with a Garmin G500TXi glass cockpit.

The G500TXi offers touchscreen operation, synthetic vision, terrain awareness and real-time traffic, providing faster processing, intuitive navigation and improved situational awareness. These upgrades reduce pilot workload and create a more modern and immersive flight experience.

Built on a proven composite airframe, the DA20i Katana maintains the series’ reputation for reliability and training value while integrating contemporary avionics and engineering updates.

“We’re thrilled to bring the DA20i Katana back to Europe,” says Jane Wang, Director Sales, Marketing and Flight Ops at Diamond Aircraft Austria. “This aircraft has always held a special place in the hearts of pilots and instructors and with its new upgrades, it’s ready to inspire the next generation of aviators.”

European production of the DA20 series was paused more than a decade ago, but manufacturing of the DA20-C1 in Canada will continue unchanged.
