BAE Systems expands Endicott for high-voltage energy systems

The 150,000 square foot facility will support aircraft electrification with new manufacturing, testing and field support capabilities.

BAE Systems is expanding its Endicott, New York site with a 150,000-square-foot addition focused on high-voltage energy storage systems (ESS) for aircraft. The expansion supports the company’s growth in aircraft electrification and commitment to the Greater Binghamton community.

“We are building the future of power and energy management in the Greater Binghamton area,” says Ehtisham Siddiqui, vice president and general manager of Controls and Avionics Solutions at BAE Systems. “This expansion deepens our commitment to the region, while positioning us at the forefront of rising demand for aircraft electrification technology.”

The new facility will include pilot production lines, high-volume automated manufacturing, a battery testing lab, office space and aftermarket support areas. Construction has already begun, with completion expected in the coming years.

As a member of New Energy New York, BAE Systems works with industry, academic and government leaders to advance energy storage innovation and workforce development in the region. The Endicott site supports commercial and military programs in flight controls, engine controls, mission systems and power and propulsion.
